EKONG UNVEILS UWUA
  
The chairman of Akwa United, Dr Chris Ekong, has reiterated government's commitment to propel the State team to national and international limelight. Ekong made this submission while unveiling the new technical adviser, Coach Godwin Uwua, to the Akwa Ibom sports public in Uyo Stadium recently. The club boss said that after the management had disappointment with the Slovenian on health grounds, he decided to bring in an experienced indigenous coach in the person of Koko Uwua, to inject his wealth of experience to resuscitate the winning form. He posited that the employment of Coach Uwua is sequel to putting square peg in a square hole, stressing that competence, discipline and hard work are peculiar attributes to his pedigree.

He called on everyone to give him maximum support. In his responses, Coach Uwua expressed satisfaction over the caliber of management members, officials and players, describing his new abode as God's predestined arrangement to work with Akwa Ibom people. The Benue high chief remarked that the successes he recorded in big teams within and outside the country, were as a result of God's mercy , not by some element of means. He stated that he loves working with crop of players who believe in commitment and discipline, adding that any result-focused person needs to consider these words as major apparatuses of progress.

Meanwhile the employment of this celebrated football technocrat, Godwin Koko Uwua into the team has given some sense of hope that, indeed, there is a way forward for Akwa to realize its dreams. Coach Uwua is a household name. He does not need any further introduction in Nigeria and Africa . His pedigree can not raise any doubt on someone who has paid his dues. He knows the nitty-gritty of the round leather game and the intervention steps taken by management of Akwa United is very timely and necessary, and it will give the caretaker coach, Ime Ukoh and his assistant, Godwin Morgan, ample opportunities to sojourn thoroughly through the aisle of their profession with ease. With Uwua at the vanguard of progress, there is hope of fortune and general transformation. His address to the officials and players was a clear impetus to hard work, dedication, commitment, hope and better things ahead.

The management has done everything to encourage the growth of the team and is still willing to do more to achieve the set goals. Howbeit, the league is progressing, every Akwa Ibom person hopes for the best from Koko Uwua. So let's keep our fingers crossed, as we watch proceedings and see how the new technical adviser will translate the Uwuaism theory into practical results.
